Consider Amsterdam Hotels For Your Wedding Suite

Consider Amsterdam Hotels For Your Wedding Suite
By Simon Davis

Getting married is a joyous occasion that should be celebrated with some of the worlds more beautiful cities. Why not consider Amsterdam? Those that are traveling to this city will be able to take full advantage of this cultural experience. The hotel choices are excellent when it comes to a bridal suite as well as the standard romantic getaway. If you plan to celebrate your love in this city, do so by taking some extra time to book a romantic and celebrated hotel suite.

There are some hotels within the city that offer a good range of room choices. If you are celebrating a special function such as a romantic night away, make sure that the hotel that you stay at is one that features a bridal suite. If you are not sure if this is offered by the hotel, call up and ask before assuming that it is. The suite can offer a variety of different things from romantic hot tubs and luxurious bedrooms to cozy fireplaces and balconies overlooking all the beauty that the city has to offer.

If you do plan to book the bridal suite in a hotel in Amsterdam, it does make sense to plan ahead. You will want to insure that you give yourself enough time to get your reservations in before they are booked up. As one of the most beautiful cities in the world, these suites can be booked up quickly. Take some time to determine which the most ideal choice is. You can often find all of the necessary information about the bridal suite that is offered by the hotel right on the web. You may want to learn what is included in that offer before booking, though. Nevertheless, Amsterdam has quite a bit to offer to you in the way of romance.

Quick Guide to Wedding Catering: Part One

Quick Guide to Wedding Catering: Part One
By Amy Spade

After watching the happy couple exchange vows and begin their married life together, your guests will be hungry. Many of the guests may have scaled back on eating in order to look good for pictures or just because they were so busy during the day.

So feed them right.

Different needs

When youre putting together such a large assortment of people, there are bound to be those that have certain ways or preferences of eating. You may find that there are vegetarians or those that can not eat dairy. You might have a diabetic in the crowd or some other health restriction.

Do you have to make arrangements for everyone?

You should certainly try to have options for any sort of eating arrangement. In the case of those that dont eat meat, you might want to have a cheese lasagne available or other pasta dish. This is becoming widely popular to have two options anyways, so why not offer them?

Another way to cope with varied needs is to serve dinner in a buffet style. This allows each person to pick only what they want or what they can eat.

How to find good food

A lot of wedding caterers rely on word of mouth (no pun intended) to get their services recognized. If you can, talk to other people that have gotten married in your town to see who they recommend. Of course, you will still want to see them for yourself, but this list can be a great starting point.

Another way to find good catering is to talk to the reception hall coordinators. Many times they will either require the use of a particular caterer or they have a list of those that they recommend.

Of course, you will want to schedule an appointment with all of the catering candidates in order to do a taste test of their menu options. At that point, you can pick what you think your guests will enjoy.

A good meal is a great way to send your thanks to your guests for coming to your wedding. This is the part that shouldnt be skimped on for any reason. Of course, that doesnt mean that you cant find moderately priced options.

Try your favourite restaurant, for example. If theyre able to cater, then you may be able to get a better deal because youre buying food in bulk.

Having a friend who is a cook is even betterso long as they dont mind working through the wedding.

A Few Wedding Invitation Ideas To Make Your Wedding Distinctive

A Few Wedding Invitation Ideas To Make Your Wedding Distinctive
By Donald Saunders

As we move into the twenty-first century we are leaving behind many of the traditions of the twentieth century, including many of the customs associated with the white wedding. Couples are seeking to personalize every aspect of their wedding today and to create a truly unique event wherever possible. It's no surprise therefore to find that couples are increasingly looking for new wedding invitation ideas.

It is already commonplace for many couples to dispense with the services of a professional printer and to purchase blank wedding stationery, either from their local supplier or through the Internet, and to produce their own wedding invitations using a home computer. This allows couples to stick with the traditional form of invitation but to save considerably on the cost. But what about those couples who are looking for a different way of inviting their guests altogether?

Well, to be honest nowadays you're really only limited by your imagination and just about anything you can think of can be used by way of a wedding invitation. Some couples are even choosing to send out email invitations. This is fine as long as all of your guests have access to a computer and regularly use email but, for most people, this is a quick and easy but perhaps not ideal solution.

The secret if you want something that is both personal and different is to stick with a printed or written (or perhaps even video or audio) invitation that can be sent through the regular postal service and to look for something special that you can send your guests which will give them the details that they need and provide them with a memento of the occasion.

One idea would be to use boxed invitations. These are essentially oversized invitations send in a box which allows you to include a range of items including bows and ribbons, photographs and even fresh flowers from your garden. This can certainly provide a stunning invitation but will also be expensive.

Another idea might be to use handmade paper for your invitations, possibly with dried flowers pressed into it. These delicate papers which are readily available today can be hand or flat printed to produce a very beautiful invitation.

To really make your invitations personal you could send each guest a personal video invitation. This is not as difficult or expensive as it sounds today and many home computers today have everything you need to record your message and burn it onto a CD ready for posting.

These are just a few of the many wedding invitation ideas that you will be able to generate with just a little bit of thought, but they will hopefully point you in the right direction.

A Family Wedding A What? Part I Planning and the Ceremony

A Family Wedding - A What? Part I - Planning and the Ceremony
By Nily Glaser

A wedding is always exciting. A lot of planning and preparation go into action so that the wedding will be memorable meaningful and as one-of-a-kind as the marrying couple. Yet, each couple has consideration unique to them.

  • There are couples where both partners marry for the first time.
  • There are couples where one or both partners have been married before but have no children.
  • There are couples where one or both partners have been married before and have children.
  • And there are December couples who often have children and grandchildren.

This article is dedicated to couples that will have a lended family once they are married. That is, children will have a new parent and possibly new siblings.

Many, though not all marrying or re-marrying couples are looking for ways to integrate the children into the wedding ceremony and - or reception in such a way that it will become a Family Wedding.

Some people wonder; Why should a wedding not be dedicated to the bride and groom alone? Why should it not be Their Day?

    There are two main reasons.

  • Children need reassurance. They need to know that they are welcome and wanted by both parents and new siblings.
  • Most parents WANT their children to be an integral part of the wedding and celebration.

We at A-wedding Day are often asked to suggest ways to involve the children in their parent(s) wedding.

The following are ideas, implementation of which depends on the ages and abilities of the children and the degree of involvement the marrying couple wishes to dedicate to them.

Children must always feel that they are IMPORTANT especially now, when their parent is marrying a new life partner.

LET'S BEGIN WITH PLANNING AND PREPARATION.

Children who are old enough should be asked to put on their thinking caps and help with the wedding planning and preparations. Their input should always be taken into consideration and if possible acted upon.

Children can make recommendations ranging from wedding themes to color schemes. They can suggest decorations, favors and centerpieces and help make them. Some parents even let the children help address envelops and - or stuff them. Of course children of driving age can run errands as well. It is not uncommon for parents of older children to have sons lead the bride and daughters lead the groom to the altar. It is also very important to make a big fuss over shopping for the children's wedding attire and special accessories, making it an exciting family affair.

    WE'LL CONTINUE WITH THE CEREMONY

First come the obvious. If the children or grandchildren are not grown ups, they should be given the duties of a Flower Child and Ring Bearer.

Before they assume these duties however, if they are old enough, children could be in charge of having the guests sign the guest book and in charge of escorting guests to their seats.

During the ceremony, after the bride and groom exchange vows, they may integrate vows dedicated especially to the children.

Children who are old and responsible enough, should participate in the Unity Candle ceremony. Here there are a few options. If only one or two children are involved, they should be given their own tapers and join the bride and groom in lighting the pillar candle. However, if more than two children are involved, they should receive their own tapers but rather than light the pillar candle, light their tapers from it.

Only if they choose to do so on their own, the candle lighting ceremony is a perfect opportunity for children who are old enough to congratulate the bride and groom and acknowledge the new family union.

Right after the Family Unity Candle ceremony, is the best time for the new husband and wife to give each of the children a piece of jewelry. Whether it is a 3 bands, personalized, engraved sterling silver Family Unity Ring, a Family Unity pendant (exclusive to A-wedding Day, or some other keepsake item, it should be followed by a BIG welcome hug.

Some engraving ideas for the 3 in 1 ring could be:

  • Band 1: Child's name
  • Band 2: With Love
  • Band 3: Wedding Date.

    IMPORTANT NOTE!

The bride and groom exchange vows. It is also customary for brides and grooms to present special vows - promises to the children. BUTNEVER request that a child will present wedding vows to the adults.

A special article dedicated to this will follow soon

The reception offers as many opportunities for involving the children as there is imagination. There are also the obvious toasts, dances, special responsibilities and tasks. An article dedicated to involving the children in the reception will follow soon too.

  • A Destination Wedding in Bali Part 3 Choosing a Venue

A Destination Wedding in Bali Part 3 Choosing a Venue
    By Colin Hall

Deciding on the type of wedding you want is the first step in choosing the most appropriate venue. A small intimate ceremony with a handful of guests would be difficult to achieve in a sprawling 5 star resort but would be perfect for a small boutique hotel or a private villa.

So, the first thing to do is decide what sort of wedding you would like. Will it be small and intimate or grand and elegant? Will it be formal or casual? How many guests will be there? Once you have decided on the type of wedding its time to think about location. Do you want the wedding on the beach? Do you want a church wedding? Would you like to be married in the picturesque rice fields? Just a word of caution regarding weddings on the beach. It is possible to get married on the beach but all beaches on Bali are public and it can be very difficult to maintain the privacy and security of the ceremony. It is quite possible that local sightseers will crowd round and the hawkers will even try to sell things to your guests. A better solution is to have the wedding ceremony in the grounds of a hotel or villa close to the beach and then have some photographs taken on the beach.

For large weddings there are many international hotels that can accommodate your wedding and your guests and there are often group discounts on rooms available. For smaller weddings there are many fabulous private villas that offer really good value for money. The added benefit of hiring a private villa is that you can celebrate late into the night without disturbing anyone else.

There are so many choices and options available that it can be a bit daunting trying to sort through them all. This is another reason why it is better to hire a wedding organiser who can guide and advise you on the best location for your dream wedding in paradise.

A Destination Wedding in Bali Part 2 Legal Requirements

A Destination Wedding in Bali Part 2 - Legal Requirements
    By Colin Hall

A lot of people think it is too difficult to have a legal wedding in Bali and so just have a religious blessing or a renewal of vows ceremony, but it is possible to be married legally in Bali.

All couples who marry in Indonesia must declare a religion. Atheism and Agnosticism are not recognised and the Civil Registry office can record marriages of couples of Islam, Buddhist, Hindu, Christian-Catholic and Christian-Protestant faiths. Marriage partners must have the same religion, otherwise one partner must make a written declaration of a change of religion.

A Christian, Buddhist or Hindu wedding is usually performed in a church or temple ceremony first. After the religious ceremony, every non-Islamic marriage must be recorded with the Civil Registry. Without the registration of the Civil Registry these marriages are not legal. Recording by Civil Registry officials can be performed directly at the religious ceremony for an additional fee.

Couples will also need to provide to the Civil Registry a Notice of Intention to Marry and also a Letter of No Impediment which is obtained from the consular representatives. To obtain these documents there are different requirements for each nationality and personal situation (divorced, widowed, etc) of the couple.

Two witnesses over the age of 18 are required. They cannot be family members of the bride and groom and they must show the originals and present photocopies of their passports. Civil Registry employees can also act as witnesses. Marriage certificates are issued immediately and a sworn translation of the certificate should be obtained for use in the couples home country.

The legal requirements and the process can be daunting to a foreigner trying to manage their wedding from a distance and therefore it is recommended that the couple find a competent wedding planner or consultant who will take care of all the paperwork for them. The wedding planner can also help with all aspects of the wedding arrangements making it easy and stress free to have a romantic wedding in Bali.

A Chocolate Fountain For your Wedding Reception

A Chocolate Fountain For your Wedding Reception
    By Natalie Aranda

Everyone likes chocolate. When you are planning your wedding reception and are thinking of adding something special that will delight and please your guests, one good suggestion is a chocolate fountain. The chocolate fountain is usually a stainless steel fountain arranged in several tiers that have a decreasing diameter as they rise upward. Melted chocolate is placed in the bottom of the fountain and rises through the center of the fountain via a corkscrew type device and cascades in a solid sheet of chocolate down over the tiers.

The fountain acts as a giant fondue and a wide variety of treats can be placed along side the fountain and guests can use wooden skewers to dip the treats into the chocolate flow. The chocolate flows over and around the treat and coats the treat. Since the chocolate is kept in a melted state by an internal heater, when the food is removed from the fountain flow, the chocolate will harden slightly leaving a thin coating. Then the snack is ready to eat.

Fruits of any kind and other snacks like pretzels and marshmallows make excellent choices for the snacks. Cookies and rice crispy treats are also good suggestions. Just about anything that tastes good with chocolate is acceptable except for crumbly type cakes that will break up in the fountain flow.

Units may be rented and most rental companies provide set up and clean up service. Most do not provide the additional food as wedding caterers usually are providing this and will be glad to add fountain snacks to the food package. It may be possible that you are a lover of Hershey Chocolate or Ghiradelli Chocolate, and you may even prefer Lindt chocolates, and you can certainly add them to your wedding food array. The chocolate fountain will provide their own chocolate though, so you do not have to worry about melting down a thousand Hershey chocolate bars to fill the fountain.

The chocolate used in the fountain usually comes in twenty five pound packages which will be enough for up to four hundred guests. The chocolate is a high quality type which contains between 32-39% cocoa butter. This type provides better flow characteristics which makes it better for use in the fountain. If you are a chocolate lover, and most of us are, a chocolate fountain can be a unique and exciting centerpiece for your wedding reception table.

8 Tips For Saving At Least $3000 On Your Wedding Budget

8 Tips For Saving At Least $3000 On Your Wedding Budget
    By Jane Ling

So you're finally getting married? Congratulations! This should be one of the happiest days in your life. But to be honest - it's also going to be one of the most costly days in your life. If you haven't figured it out yet - weddings are expensive. The cost of a wedding can very from $5000 to even $100,000 and more, if you're really rich and willing to put in that kind of money. The average wedding in the US, though, costs about $20,000 (for around 150 guests). A hefty sum, especially for a couple that is young in most cases, and doesn't really have that kind of money to spend.

So, is there anything we can do to lower the costs of a wedding?

The truth is that there is a lot we can do to lower the cost of a wedding. Let's cover a few of the areas in which we can do that, and in many cases reduce the price in thousands of dollars.

So here's out list of tips. Take a look and see if you can borrow these ideas and use them:

Tip no.1: Have the wedding done off-season. Most of the weddings are done in April-August. So why not get married in September?

Tip no.2: Have the wedding done off-season. Most of the weddings are done in April-August. So why not get married in September?

Tip no.3: If possible, try to have the wedding in the late afternoon instead of the evening. The reception halls are less expensive in the afternoon, and since the reception is a big part of your expense, the savings will be notable.

Tip no.4: Choose a week day instead of a weekend day. The days of the week are less expensive than the weekends.

Tip no.5: The location of the wedding can be very significant in terms of price. Maybe you can do the wedding in a city nearby which is less expensive.

Tip no.6: The wedding dress - remember, it's only worn once, so spending thousands of dollars on it is not the most reasonable thing to do (but many of us do it anyway). Try a creative solution that costs less. One idea is to order a wedding dress online and make alteration. In many cases this will cost much less.

Tip no.7: Make the wedding favors yourself. It can be fun, creative and less expensive.

Tip no.8: Enlist your friends to help. Do you have a friend who knows how to photograph? Do you know someone who can design your invitations? Does the bride have a friend who can do her makeup and hair?

The main idea in trying to cut down wedding costs is to be creative. Try to think of ideas that will help you reduce the costs. Who knows - maybe you'll save enough to use that money for a house down payment!

Wedding Shoes: Ensure You Have The Right Image!

Wedding Shoes: Ensure You Have The Right Image!
    By Lesley-Ann Graham

Wedding items often left to the last minute are the shoes. This can be a major mistake as some styles can be difficult to find. Let's not even talk about the size and fit!

Things to keep in mind is that the shoes you choose should be both great looking and comfortable. Keep in mind that there's a lot of walking and standing to be done at your wedding. Hobbling is definitely not elegant and will definitely jar with your perfect image.

For the grooms, the choice is more restricted compared to the women. A good choice would be patent leather shoes or low-cut ones. They will look both elegant and smart with your suit.

For the brides, keep your dress in mind when you choose. A simple gown would call for a simple shoe, while a more elaborate gown would allow for a more embellished shoe. There are a whole lot of designs to choose from. Would boots or slingbacks look better with your dress? How about a pair of pumps?

Another thing to keep in mind is the heel of the shoe. You might look great in really high heels but how will you feel after almost two hours in them, carrying a ton of weight in your gown and train? You might end up in pain which is not a good way to celebrate your special day. Maybe an elegant pair of wedding slippers after a pedicure will do the trick, and the pampering feels great.

No matter what kind of shoes you choose, it's always a great idea to break them in before the big day. Wear them for at least a week to really get used to them and have them form properly to your foot. This way there'll be no blisters marring your special day.

7 Tips to Choose Wedding Bows

7 Tips to Choose Wedding Bows
    By Todd Wunderlich

    Tip number:

1.)When looking for the perfect size wedding bow for your special day, keep in mind that you will need to make sure that the color of your bow does not clash with the colors you have chosen for your wedding.

2.)Make sure where ever you are going to place the bow that there is sufficient space for it and it is not anywhere near open flames.

Example: CRBows bows are the worlds largest wedding bows measuring 8 feet in length and 8 feet in width. The average larger size bow ranges from about 1 foot to 3 feet in length.

3.)Make sure the wedding bow you choose is weather resistant if you choose to have your wedding outdoors. If the weather turns ugly it is nice if the decorations are not ruined if you are unable to get to them right away.

4.)Make sure you have enough bows to cover all the areas you want to place them. Coming up short is never good. Beautiful wedding bows really make a statement.

5.)Make sure you order the bows in advance so you do not have to worry about them when your wedding day approaches. You will have enough on your mind without having to worry about the decorations.

6.)Whenever selecting wedding pew bows and wedding decorations for your loved ones special moment. Your decisions are crucial, so take your time and make your bridal and wedding accessories picks turn out perfect.

7.)Remember to take special care of each oversized bow by sealing it in a large zip locking plastic bag (or large lawn bag) and then placing it in a sturdy box to prevent crushing while in storage will insure many more years of use out of it.

The owner of CRBows bows has put careful consideration into the planning and designing of each area of the bow, how it is made and the material (Silk Flannelette) giving it a look of elegance and class with a velvety feel. This has helped to get the CRBows bow listed among the world's most beautiful bows available.

    Choosing a Wedding Photographer

    Choosing a Wedding Photographer
    By Steve Whiting

When choosing a wedding photographer it is important to choose someone who you feel happy and comfortable with. Ask friends or relatives for recommendations from couples who have recently been married or from the venue itself and obtain a number of quotes. Make sure you see some samples of the photographers work and that the style of photography is one you are confident with. This is important as some couples can feel uncomfortable with some poses the photographer may request. Some photographers take candid shots whist others have a more traditional style.

If possible ask the photographer to visit your home or where you will be leaving from, and also the wedding venue prior to the day .This way you can discuss settings and any unusual shots you may wish and it will give the photographer the opportunity to see the lighting conditions and settings for themselves. This may not be necessary if the photographer has already worked at the venue before.

Traditionally if a church wedding, shots will be taken of the bride at her home, in the car, entrance to the church, in the vestry, leaving the church and then various group photos of the bridal party, family and friends. A wedding held at a different venue may well depend on what that venue itself allows. The reception photographs are usually of the bridal party at the top table, cake cutting and the couples first dance, throwing the bouquet and the couples departure. It may be whilst at the reception you would like some no traditional photographs taken, for example of individual couples or families (without the bride and groom ) that they may purchase for themselves. This can be quite a nice idea that people have a memento of the day of themselves in their finery.

Your wedding photographs will be your cherished reminder of your big day so it is important to choose the best photographer that funds allow.

Some couples chose to have a video recording of their special day. Specialized videographers will take into account lighting and positioning so as to be unobtrusive to obtain the best video as opposed to one done may be by a friend or family. The reception venue or church may be able to recommend one to you who will be used to the venue. Ask to see a demonstration tape and make sure you are aware of what pieces of the wedding day they will they will record and let them know if you have any special requests.

Looking for a wedding Photographer then try the Wedding Photographers section of our Wedding directory. We also have a useful information guide for would be brides.

    Winter & Holiday Themed Weddings

    Winter & Holiday Themed Weddings
    By Beth Clark

Tis the Season! If marrying during the holiday season, be sure to check in advance as to what the decorations will be in the sanctuary or reception area so that your decorations can work with theirs, not fight against them. If you plan and work to incorporate their decorations, you may actually find that you can personalize the space with only a few minor touches, thus saving on your decorating budget.

Some Winter or Holiday theme ideas:

    • White Christmas lights entwined through pine garland
    • Balloon bouquets of silver, white and gold balloons
    • Snowflake confetti
    • Cut a circle of white tulle and fill with candies, chocolate kisses, mints or nuts and tie the tulle silver or gold ribbon
    • Place a mirror in the center of the table and arrange 3 champagne glasses of different heights or a brandy on the mirror. Fill with water and float a white flower on the top or add floating candles. Sprinkle some silver or gold glitter over the mirror for effect
    • Snow! Snow in a can will add a pretty, twinkling effect on many items.
    • Mistletoe! Hang a large mistletoe bunch under a archway and be sure to pass under it frequently.
    • Faux fur trim (perhaps a hooded cape to cover your dress when you are outdoors or a hand muff)
    • Sparkling tiaras for head-dresses
    • Fur or swans down trimming for gowns
    • Long white gloves, trimmed with sparkling beads
    • Bouquets of white flowers
    • Trailing silver ribbons trimmed with bells
    • White votives (glowing candlelight is a wonderful winter accent!). Try setting several on a mirror in the center of each table.
Winter or Holiday Theme Wedding Flowers
    • Holly
    • Poinsettia
    • Lots of greenery

    By Vanessa Pruitt

Of course, every detail of any brides wedding is important. But, there are some steps that you can go over in advance to make the months ahead as simple as possible. You can use these steps to help outline the planning of your wedding.

1.)Budget One of the biggest mistakes that brides make is not setting a budget. You should set the maximum amount you are able to spend. If you do not have an amount set, you could be very unpleasantly surprised at the end of your planning. You do not want to be spending your honeymoon trying to figure out how you will foot the bill, or worrying about debt.

2.)Date- Think about the date that you would like your wedding to be. At first, you may want to pick a month, and work from there. Be sure to allow yourself enough time to organize the details. You dont want to stress yourself out pulling everything together right before the wedding; and guests from out of town will want to have plenty of time to make plans. Be careful in choosing a date. Be sure that it is not a busy time of year, such as a holiday or during graduation, etc.

3.)Wedding Party You will probably want to choose your wedding party early on. You will need to know who is in your wedding party when planning the wedding ensemble, etc. Peoples lives get very busy and things come up, so keep them updated on the events to come. You will probably want to pick a maid of honor, man of honor, flower girl, ring bearer, bridesmaids, and groomsmen, as well as any other special attendants.

4.)Location It is a good idea to think about where you would like your wedding to take place. Would you like to have your wedding in a church, or would you rather have it in another location, such as outside or in a special location? Keep in mind, that if you are not the member of a church, marriage counseling or other special arrangements may be required to be married there. If you are having a reception, look into where you will want have it. Contact each establishment, and see if the date that you want is available. Ask about prices and booking information. Some reception sites will have discounts if you also have them cater the food at your event.

5.)Officiator The location of your wedding may determine who will be the officiator of your wedding. The preacher or pastor of a certain church will most likely officiate your wedding if it is held there. If you are having your wedding in a different location, you may want to hire an officiator. You can check with your local clerk magistrate to see if he will attend weddings off site. Make sure that you know about all fees required for your officiator. Most will want to be paid before the event.

6.)Theme / Colors You will probably want to pick a theme or set of colors for your wedding. This will set the tone and dcor for the event. For many brides, this is an important decision, as it will set the mood of their wedding. It will also determine many of the little details of the wedding, such as apparel.

7.)Wardrobe Of course, for many brides, its all about the dress. But, you dont want to forget about what your wedding party, as well as your groom will be wearing. You may want to match the wardrobe with the theme and colors of the wedding. Keep in mind the time of year that your wedding will take place. Think about your shoes and jewelry, and factor these into your budget.

8.)Invitations You will want to get your invite list together fairly early in your planning. You will need an estimation of the number of guests who might be attending for seating, food, etc. Keep In mind that your budget will rely deeply on the amount of guests at your wedding. Think about what your invitations will be like. Will they include reception cards, maps, or other elements? Also look into the price of your invitations. Decide whether you will order invitations, have someone you know make them, or make them yourself.

9.)Rings Dont let your wedding rings get lost in the mix. You will want to figure these into your budget as well. It would be wise to do some shopping around. You will want plenty of time to pick them out and get them sized before your wedding.

10.)Food Food will be a major element in your budget. You will want to determine the food arrangements for your rehearsal dinner and reception. You will also want to start determining where you will have your cake made, and what style of cake you would like.

11.)Music Decide if you will want music during your ceremony and reception. There are many different options when it comes to music. You could simply have somebody play recorded music, or you could hire somebody to sing or play music at your event. The latter will, of course, be tighter on your budget. Another option would be to have a DJ or a band at your reception. Make sure you know the details of their fees.

12.)Vows Many of us get lost in the planning of our wedding, and forget what the big day is all about. Sit down with your partner and talk about your vows, and what they mean to the both of you. You may want to write your own vows, keeping in mind that this special event is no joke, and is an important decision for you both in the rest of your lives.

13.)Extras After you have thought about all the major steps in the planning of your wedding, you can tie all the little details together. Here are some things you may want to include in the big event: programs, ring bearers pillow, cake topper, flower girl basket, flowers, etc. You will also need to check into applying for your marriage license.

I wish you all the best in the planning of this very special event in your lives. Dont forget why you are getting married in the first place, and have fun designing your wedding. Dont be afraid to include your partner in the process, and remember that it is their big day, too!

7 Tips On What To Look For In A Wedding Website Service

7 Tips On What To Look For In A Wedding Website Service
    By Gill Reese

Wedding websites are gaining popularity among today's newly-weds, and rightfully so. Having a wedding website is a great way to share the wedding excitement with the world. There are so many benefits to having a wedding website - here are a few of them:

    1. Before the wedding you can use the website to excite your future guests and entertain them with preliminary photos, count down, before-wedding journal, and the like. This is also a great way to remember the exiting days before the wedding, after you get married.

    2. You can also make good use of your wedding website, in more practical ways, such as for wedding gift list management, arrival confirmation, directions and other practical information about the wedding day.

    3. After the wedding is over, you can keep the website up as a reminder of the event, and, you can share pictures and videos with the world through the website. Imagine your relatives in another state - they ca see the wedding pictures at their home!

When you go about getting your own wedding website, you really have two main options - to build one yourself, or to get a ready made solution, that you can customize to your own need.Unless you are already an experienced webmaster, I recommend you don't built your own website. This is because building your own site takes a lot of time and effort, as well as some kind of financial investment. And, in most cases, your website will eventually come out less attractive than the ready made solution, unless you are a great graphic designer. Bottom line - just like you take a professional photographer to film your wedding, you should take a professional wedding website company as your wedding website solution provider. This will save you a lot of head aches.

So, what should you look for when you go fishing for a wedding website? I can think of a few key components:

    1. A free trial - many wedding website companies will give you a free trial of 7 days, than, you will need to pay a monthly fee. In my opinion, you should pay no more than $19 a month. There are some great companies out there that will give you great websites at this price.

    2. Choose design - in most cases you will be able to choose a design for your website, out of 100's of existing designs. So make sure there are some attractive designs you can choose from.

    3. Can you have your own domain? Many wedding website companies will give you a sub domain of their own, like johnandmarie.mywedding.com. You should be able to replace that with a full, clean domain you register on your name.

    4. Wedding planning tools - your website should include wedding project planning tools that will help you plan and budget your wedding.

    5. Your wedding website should able your guests to confirm their arrival at the site (that way they dont need to call you especially)

    6. Directions, pools, quizzes - all these all value to your website.

    7. Upload pictures and videos - make sure your site supports uploading pictures. The videos part is a bit more of a problem, since they take more space. It's best to find out in advance what are the policies in regards to videos.

Making a wedding website is a great addition to your wedding experience. This is something that should not be missed, as today almost everyone surfs the web, and can enjoy your website.

    Catering to Your Wedding

    Catering to Your Wedding
    By Jen Carter

Wedding catering has always been one of the most crucial aspects of planning a wedding. Besides choosing the food menu items for the palette, you also need to think of other factors could there be potential allergies to certain types of wedding food, will the food arrive on time, and will it taste great? For all these reasons and more, it is very important that you take the time to review the details of providing great cuisine through a responsible and reliable wedding caterer. Ideally, you will find someone who has experience in catering wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, theme weddings and bridal showers. If the caterer is a custom designer, baker or Chef, they might also help you plan your stunning wedding cake or cake tops. Here are some tips we have found that might help make planning your wedding catering easier than you might think:

1.Meet the Caterer(s) in person with questions.

Many local wedding florists, planners and coordinators know the industry well. Ask them about potential caterers for your event. If you contact a caterer, ask to meet with him or her in person. You will want them to provide references in terms of their abilities and experience. Make you sure you also contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau, bbb.org) to see if they are listed there or are in good standing. Ask your potential caterer about the largest number of guests they can handle and when their last wedding catering took place. Other important details are whether they are insured, have health permits, and whether they are licensed. Without a health permit a caterer cannot provide your wedding food needs.

2.Check to see if a Caterer is included in your wedding package.

Many couples choose to have a destination wedding and find that special place to hold their wedding ceremony and reception. If this is in your plans make sure you check that catering is not included in a wedding package if you chose one. If catering is included, make sure you still ask the appropriate questions.

    3.Tasting

Ask about food tasting. Many caterers will allow a tasting in advance of the wedding so that you can choose cuisine that meets your needs. Some charge a fee for this, while others dont allow it at all. Use discretion, and if possible, ask about bringing others to the tasting.

    4. Write up a well-detailed contract

A business contract is always necessary in any business transactions and catering is no exception. The contract can be written and signed by you, the contractor and a witness (if possible your fianc or friend) and should include even the smallest of details to ensure there are no misunderstanding as to what is expected by both yourself and the caterer. Assume you will need to put down a deposit.

    5. Wedding catering menu ingredients

Ask about the ingredients used in preparing your meal. Are the ingredients high quality, does the caterer bake in-house or order out (especially for bakery and dessert items)? All of this will play a role in pricing out the ultimate professional caterer for your wedding.

    6. Inquire about the cancellation policy

Always inquire about the cancellation policy. Read the fine lines in any contract as there may be stiff penalties / taxes involved if you need to change your event date or cancel altogether.

Another suggestion is to put some thought into a backup plan. Although its rare and highly unlikely a wedding caterer or catering company would leave you high and dry, stranger things have happened.

In the end, your choice of wedding cuisine should match you and your fiancs personal preference and style. By planning your wedding catering thoroughly and wisely months in advance, one of the most important aspects of you wedding will be thoroughly enjoyed by all. Bon appetite!

7 Steps for Choosing the Right Wedding Shoes

7 Steps for Choosing the Right Wedding Shoes
    By Heather Robinson

7 Steps for Picking the Right Wedding Shoes

What girl doesn't love shopping for shoes? Wedding shoes are no different. There are many styles of wedding shoes out there, so let's make sure you pick the right ones!

If you are like most women, on more than one occasion, you have worn a pair of cute strappy heels and hours later, with your feet aching like they never have before, wonder if those shoes were really worth the pain!

You would think that we would have learned from our first aching feet experience. However, more times than not, we do it again!

This is not the position that you want to find yourself, or your feet in, at your wedding! Your wedding is all about comfort! The best part is that you do not have to forfeit style for comfort. The trick is to find shoes that are stylish and comfortable.

    Wedding Shoes Tips

    1. Never worn heels before? Your wedding day is NOT the day to start! Your feet will be in a state of shock. Try a shoe with a low heel or wear a satin ballerina slipper instead.

    2. Buy your shoes early, preferably at the same time or soon after you purchase your wedding dress. You need to know how well they coordinate with your dress. You will also need to take them with you to your tailor so that your dress can be hemmed accordingly.

    3. Take into consideration the embellishments on your wedding dress. A rhinestone shoe may not coordinate well with a pearl embellished dress.

    4. If you do buy heels, break them in. Do not wait until your wedding day to wear them for an extended period of time. Breaking them in before hand will ensure comfort on your wedding day.

    5. Keep your groom in mind! Try not to buy shoes that will leave you towering over him at the altar. It is not considerate nor will it look good in your pictures.

    6. If you are on a budget, buying wedding shoes can be a good place to save a few bucks. The majority of wedding dresses worn are floor length. Therefore, wedding shoes are rarely seen anyway. Borrow a pair of wedding shoes or buy an inexpensive pair.

    7. Consider purchasing two pairs of shoes. Many brides opt to wear a more comfortable pair of shoes at their receptions.

DIY Tip: Buy a pair of white flip flops and add Swarvoski crystals to the straps. Change into them on the way to your reception and it is comfort all night long!

To tell you the truth....Many bridesmaids often bring comfortable shoes to change into anyway, so why not go along with it?

Whatever pair of wedding shoes you choose make sure that they are comfortable! You don't want to look back on your wedding day and remember how bad your feet hurt! Make your feet happy and you will be happy!

    Winter Wedding Destinations

    Winter Wedding Destinations
    By Shari Hearn

Toying with the idea of a winter destination wedding, but not sure you want to hold the most special moment of your life in the coldest months of the year? Maybe its time to change your thinking. Winter weddings can be magical events. With a winter wedding you can choose any type of wedding you want. The bride can arrive at the church in a sleigh. Or, maybe she can ski down a mountain slope at a fancy ski resort. Or, perhaps the bride and groom can enjoy a sand ceremony on the beach.

Wait a minute. A sleigh, ski resort, and a beach? Something doesnt belong here. Were talking winter, right?

Thats the great part. A winter destination wedding or elopement means you can chose the type of winter you want. You can have the traditional winter of snow, or head off to a warmer destination. So, what kind of a winter wedding do you want?

    Snowy Winter Weddings

Lets face it. To some people theres nothing more romantic than sitting together in front of a roaring fireplace, sipping hot cider, champagne or red wine. Whether youre thinking of eloping, or planning a destination wedding with a group of close relatives and friends, a ceremony at a historic New England Inn or ski resort in Colorado or Utah could be just for you.

Many inns and resorts of New England have special winter wedding packages, such as the Stonebridge Country Club in Manchester, New Hampshire and the Interlaken Inn of Lakeville, Connecticut.

Perhaps you and your future spouse are ski fanatics. What better way to celebrate your marriage than to have a wedding at your favorite ski resort? It will certainly give your guests something fun to do after the ceremony. Most ski areas and resorts have wedding packages available, so you have your choice of such wonderful ski areas and resorts all over the country, like Lake Tahoe, California, Vail, Colorado and Stowe, Vermont. Theres even one town in the Adirondacks of New York which offer free skiing at the town-owned Ski Center. Chestertown in the Adirondacks would make a great winter wedding location, offering wedding guests free cross-country ski trails, a rope tow for downhill skiing, a tobogganing hill and a covered ice-skating rink. In addition, Chestertown has numerous cabins and bed and breakfast inns for you and your guests.

If some of your guests arent into downhill skiing, many ski areas offer other winter activities, such as cross-country skiing or tubing.

    Warmer Winter Weddings

Okay, so youre from Vermont and youre sick of snow. You want to get away from the snow for your wedding or elopement. Follow the sun! Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii and Mexico.

Phoenix, Arizona may seem like a furnace during the summer, but for winter weddings, it offers nice weather, luxurious spas and resorts, as well as the Desert Botanical Gardens in which to host your wedding.

While California beaches may be colder during the winter months, they still are beautiful places to wed. And, during the winter months, you can practically have some romantic beach spots to yourselves.

Winter weddings can offer so many choices. The hard part will be deciding which wonderful wedding destination to choose.

7 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Buy A New Wedding Dress

7 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Buy A New Wedding Dress
    By Emma Goddard

Every bride wants to look her best for her big day; it is the day when you want to shine and stand out as you walk down the aisle. One of the most important things a bride considers about her big day is of course the wedding gown. It should be the dress of your dreams and you should feel like a princess. However buying a new wedding dress isnt always the best option. Here are 7 reasons why you shouldnt buy a new wedding dress.

1.Perhaps the biggest reason that goes against purchasing a new wedding dress is the cost. Wedding dresses average from the cheapest at around 350 to well over 6,000, of course while it is your big day, it is a lot of money for a dress. If you are on a budget then buying a second hand dress could save you hundreds which could go towards other costs.

2.You are only going to be wearing the gown for a few hours on your big day and this is more relevant if you are going to change clothes for your evening reception. So you should ask yourself whether the few hours wear is worth the cost of buying a new dress.

3.Wearing a second hand wedding dress that has been passed down through the family holds more sentimental value than going out and buying a brand new one. You should take this into account when considering whether to go with new or old.

4.If you spend hundreds of pounds on a new dress, you could be on tenterhooks all day making sure you dont have an accident which could ruin your dress, especially if you want to recoup your costs by selling it in the future.

5.If you are thinking of buying a new wedding dress solely for the impact it will have on your guests, then remember that it is only the initial first 10 minutes or so that they see you in it that matters. After this, the wow factor wears off and only you know whether your dress was brand new or second hand.

6.Consider whats going to happen to the dress after your big day. If you spend hundreds on a new dress how are you going to preserve it and store it for the future? If you plan on keeping it for your daughter, it could cost a lot to keep it in good condition.

7.It isnt the cost of the dress or the designer name on the dress that matters or the fact that your dress is brand new or second hand. You are all that matters, you make the dress and your day. A good quality second hand wedding dress can be bought for only a fraction of the cost of a new one and you will still stand out.

Wedding Basics Getting Your Wedding Organized!

Wedding Basics - Getting Your Wedding Organized!
    By Lesley-Ann Graham

Your wedding day should go smoothly and without a hitch, and the key to this is good organization well in advance of your wedding day. Here are a few tips to help you deal with the pressure of planning your wedding.

    First things first...

    1. Buy a pretty notebook, or even a nice blank book. If you have everything wedding-related written down in the same place, it's hard to lose bits or forget details. Carry the notebook everywhere so you'll have it when you need it - and later it can be a keepsake. Write down:

    a. Phone numbers

    b. Tips for decoration

    c. Vendor information

    d. Guests

    e. Notes

    2. Keep loose data like wedding receipts together with an accordion folder. This is a paper or plastic enclosed file holder with pockets. Plastic's your best bet because it's easier to change labels. Label sections as you accumulate those loose papers: receipts, invoices, RSVPs, ideas and articles, etc.

    3. Depend on a computer. There are good wedding software programs for guest tracking, gift tracking, menu selections, table assignments, budgeting, and even a calendar; the best ones will do it all for between $35-60. You can even do it yourself if you're good with Excel, and some starter templates are free to download from the Microsoft Excel website. Be sure to print everything out in case of crashes.

    4. Use index cards in a box to keep your wedding guests organized. Buy a little box, 3 x 5 cards, and alphabetical dividers, and assign one card per guest, couple, or family. You can even buy computer paper that tears down into cards, if you really want to be organized. On the card, include information like:

    a. Name, address, and phone number

    b. RSVP response

    c. Gifts given

    d. Thank you note

    e. Table assignment

    f. Menu choice

    5. Maintain a to-do list for the major wedding-related jobs. If you use Outlook, this is easy to put together and print out with their Taskpad, along with percentage completion. If you prefer, though, you can just do it by hand. From your large list, you can break out smaller tasks, timelines, and tasks you can give other people. This makes those huge jobs manageable, and you also have the satisfaction of marking each off upon completion.

    6. Maintain a wedding calendar with appointments, deadlines, and critical tasks. Again, in Outlook, this is easy to do and to integrate with Taskpad's list. Every task you have listed should have at least one deadline in the calendar. For a great list of tasks and when to do them, consult our Ultimate Wedding Planning Toolkit's workbook.

    National Park Weddings

    National Park Weddings
    By Kathleen Terrana

For the bride and groom who want to be married near the grandeur of magnificent trees, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and mountains, a National Park could be the perfect venue. After completing an online application, you will be issued a permit at a cost of $150.00. Weddings may be scheduled up to one year in advance and not less than 3 weeks prior to your wedding.

There may be many restrictions associated with having your wedding at a National Park. The wedding permit does not allow your ceremony to restrict other park visitors from your chosen location. Entrance fees into the park are not waived for guests or wedding participants. In most parks, time allowed for outdoor events is three hours. Wedding permits are not issued for heavy use periods-Memorial Day weekend, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekend. An additional charge of $50.00 per hour may be incurred for an Event Monitor for those outdoor activities of 50 people or more. No amplified music or public address systems are allowed in some parks.

Here are some restrictions specifically for Yosemite National Park, but may apply to other parks as well:

Weddings are not allowed around the bases of Sequoia trees.

The release of butterflies is prohibited.

Birdseed or rice may not be thrown within the park as this provides an unnatural food source for park wildlife.

The use of balloons or other types of decorations will not be authorized.

No event or directional signs are allowed.

Picnic areas may not be reserved and are only available on a first-come basis. The permittee is responsible for the cleanup of the site and all trash. Yosemite National Park Rangers strictly enforce all laws relating to excessive drinking.

Chairs, tables or other furniture are not allowed at the site of your wedding unless a picnic area is used.

With careful planning and communication with the National Park of your choice, you can celebrate your wedding day surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. These are some of the best the United States has to offer, but there are many more:

Bryce Canyon (Utah) -Area of brilliantly colored eroded rocks
Carlsbad Caverns (New Mexico) -The world's largest known caves
Grand Teton (Wyoming) -Picturesque range of high mountain peaks
Mesa Verde (Colorado) -Best preserved prehistoric cliff dwellings in the United States
Shenandoah (Virginia) -Scenic Skyline Drive; tree-covered mountains
Yellowstone (Wyoming, Montana, Idaho) -World's greatest geyser area; abundant canyons, falls, and wildlife
Yosemite (California) -Mountains, gorges and waterfalls, giant sequoias
Zion (Utah) -Multicolored gorge in the heart of Utah desert

How to Plan Your Dream Hawaiian Wedding

How to Plan Your Dream Hawaiian Wedding
    By Lisa Corwin

Every couple wants an exceptional ceremony for their wedding. They want it to be the best - if not the greatest. After all, it will only happen once in their lives. Except, of course, to some famous celebrity-couples who are fond of going in and out of court for the end of their marriages.

Many couples spend time saving their money just for the preparation of that single-day occasion, because they want it to be memorable.

In Hawaii, the wonderful wedding youve been dreaming about can become a reality. Wedding planners specializing in Hawaiian weddings see to it that the couple will forever cherish the moment they were bonded as one.

Many people choose Hawaii as their wedding destination because it is one among the worlds most romantic places. Its tropical and warm atmosphere make it seem that it was made especially for lovers. It has suddenly became a couple's spot of celebrating the beginning of their lives together, which has also become a way of boosting the islands economy.

Hawaiian weddings are unique in the sense that the ceremony includes to some extent the culture of its people. Blooming flowers play a significant role coupled with the native chants and dances to bless the union.

You may always picture a beach wedding when you associate weddings with Hawaii, but it is not always done that way.

There are church weddings as well, just like in any other place. It is the added touch of the Hawaiian culture that puts the spice in it and makes it different from the rest.

There are a lot of wedding packages to choose from. Some offer a lot of careful touches, such as having doves and butterflies released during the ceremony. Others give away some special Hawaiian keepsakes with personalized touches. You can also choose to have some native performers join you on that special day.

The Beauty of an Ivory Wedding Dress

The Beauty of an Ivory Wedding Dress
    By Morgan Hamilton

It is a worldwide tradition that the brides should be in white on the wedding day. It is beyond doubt that many brides look gorgeous in stark-white dresses but those women who have fair skin complexion do not. These brides look pale and insignificant when they have white clothes on. Red-haired women also look improper and a bit weird in a traditional white dress. A great way of handling this problem for the two types of brides mentioned above is to wear an ivory wedding dress.

All the styles of traditional white gowns have an ivory wedding dress equivalent. The idea of adding a little colour to your dress but still wearing white on your wedding is appealing to many women. Gowns in this beautiful colour suit almost every skin tone and they do not make the ladies wearing them look washed out, nor pale.

Many women like to have quite many beauty-enhancing procedures before their special occasion. In case you have rich, dark hair and you have tanned skin, sticking to the traditional white bridal dress is a good idea. Women of colour could also only benefit from choosing a stark-white gown for the big day as the skin tones are rich and beautiful. If you are one of the types mentioned here, then you don't have to worry about looking washed out regardless of the stark white. The contrast can only make you look stunning.

However, there are many women who do not tan but get sun-burnt during the summer. These ladies are advised to go for an ivory wedding dress. The added colours will offset fair complexion whereas stark white would simply wash it away. Avoid washing off your alabaster skin by choosing an ivory bridal attire.

Red-haired ladies should also consider an ivory wedding dress. Generally, there are two kinds of redheads. The first kind is the classic red, the second - the auburn redhead. While the first has natural curls with orange-red locks, the second might look like a brunette in certain lighting. I am an auburn redhead, so the last statement concerns me.

Despite having auburn hair I don't burn-peel-freckle. I wasn't really worried that I may look washed out in a traditional white bridal gown. Though, I found that an ivory wedding dress suits me better. I had to try many white gowns which for some reason were not right until I finally put on an ivory wedding dress.

After I tried it on, I couldn't think of choosing a stark-white gown again. The ivory bridal attire suited the auburn highlights in my hair. Even though my dress was not really white it looked quite white as the attendants were wearing burgundy-wine gowns. In conclusion, keeping an open mind when choosing a wedding dress is always a good idea.

The Wedding Invitations Reflects The First Impression About Your Wedding

The Wedding Invitations Reflects The First Impression About Your Wedding
    By Alma Lazarevich

Finally, the big day is getting closer. You are only a few months away from your wedding and every detail counts. Of course, you want a gorgeous bridal gown, the most beautiful flower arrangements, a simply exquisite cake and the list seems to be endless, but, have you ever thought that the first impression of a beautiful wedding will be reflected through your invitations? You obviously wish things would be simpler, you wish you could go back to those days when wedding announcements were just that, something pretty, nothing special, but the truth is, times have changed. Its unbelievable how many hundreds of styles and choices there are:

    • from a simple cute plain card, to the most sophisticated embossed, big size invitation with double hard and soft embossed envelopes
    • monogram seals covered with gold or silver leaf
    • monogram seals over a sheet of thin wood painted with powder of mother pearl, surrounded by a string of pearls
    • doubled panel cards with sheer satin windows
    • all kinds of hand made papers
    • all kinds of imported papers from Italy, Holland, France, India, Mexico, Philippines.

And regarding accents, what about those beautiful satin or silk ribbons to enhance the beauty of an invitation? But, wait a minute. Did I say ribbons? Watch out bridesalways keep in mind that there are two persons involved in the wedding announcements, the bride and the groom. Ribbons are very romantic, but try to be conservative regarding bows; you dont want your invitation to look feminine with a bow that takes the focus away from the announcement. When you select ribbons, make sure that they will be very discreet and still will look pretty but not too feminine, think about the groom also and make sure that he also will feel proud rather than embarrassed of his wedding invitations.

As I mentioned before, there are hundreds of styles to choose from, remember that you have a great advantage when you deal directly with a designer instead of ordering from a catalog, because the designer will have a lot of suggestions regarding what you both as a couple would like and will try to make something personalized, something very special for you both.

    Winter Wedding Ideas

    Winter Wedding Ideas
    By Dennis Estrada

The winter wedding is magical wedding that coincides on the snowy winter, festive, and holiday months. The winter months start from late November to early March. The snow flakes float romantically in the air and come down slowly to the ground. In a few hours, the snow blankets all around to create and prepare for fabulous wedding setting.

The snow glistens and sparkles to your eyes as if the snow calls you to play. If you look real close, the white turns bluish in color. On a clear silent night, the stars flicker and shine heavenly. Thus, the winter wedding colors include white, light blue, and silver. Since the mistle toe is a green and red, the green and red color also fits the winter wedding. Think of ice, snow, snowflakes, ornaments, lanterns, fireplaces, ice sculptures, ginger breads, holiday decorations, and holiday treats as a winter wedding theme.

The white flowers works best for winter wedding like roses, calla lilies, carnations, gardenias, and magnolias. Although the mistle toes are green and red, mistle toes can be use as we use mistle toes for holiday decorations.

The Victorian church, winter village, large log cabin, historic mansion, and nostalgic castle provide an elegant and fabulous wedding venue. Ski resorts usually reside on a winter village. The winter village gives an unforgettable feel and character for wedding photos. A good example is Whistler, BC in Canada. A castle will do well for a venue too. For a new country, a castle-like or brick-like hotel or inn is a good alternative. The Banff Springs Hotel which is a castle-like hotel located at Banff, BC, Canada fits perfectly to the description. The large log cabin can make you feel at home as well. Also, any Victorian Church and Historic Mansion will etch the lasting memory in your heart. The wedding will be remembered forever. Lastly, you can dress up the pine trees with holiday ornaments and lights. The wedding photos will capture the festiveness of the holiday. It is like a wedding in holiday tree festival.

In cold winter weather, the white coats, furs, scarves, gloves, and capes handle the chilly and snowy weather. The snowflakes look magical in wedding photos too. Suddenly, the wedding is in winter wonderland. To add sparkles in your wedding attire, you can add diamond or pearl earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. The bridal jewelry complements the already stunning wedding dress. For the bridesmaids, and maids of honor, the Swarovski Crystal or Cubic Zirconia Jewelry work as excellent wedding favors. It is a great treat for playing the vital wedding roles. You can also dress up the bridesmaids, and maids of honor with fluffy angel feather wings to create a team of angels in the wedding.

The fireplaces and candles add a never-ending charm. We like to cozy and warm up around fireplaces during the winter season. Several red, green, and silver votive on the fireplace release the romantic mood of the holiday and wedding. On a centerpiece, several ice sculptures bring the magic of winter season in the reception dinner. A snowman, ice globe, castle, and snow flake ice sculpture are a few of the choices. Or, the village of ginger bread houses works like a charm too. To add more holiday flavor, you can add holiday garlands, and flickering lights.

The wedding cake can sit on white tulle, cotton, and blanket to simulate a wedding cake on a snowy hill. The baker can decorate the wedding with ginger bread man, and miniature winter village.

The menu of the winter season is ham, and turkey. For dessert, you have a choice of roasted chestnut, chocolate fondue, ginger breads, candy cane, marshmallows, and mint candy. For beverage, you have hot chocolate, hot cider, eggnog, and sparkling wine. Hot chocolate can be spiced up with a hint of candy cane, whereas the hot cider can be spiced up with a stick of cinnamon.

The wedding favors of the season are holiday ornaments, snowflake-shape soap, scented pine cones, snowstorm globe, candle votives, ornament candle, holiday tree soap, holiday stockings, and ginger breads.

During the winter holiday, many come home to celebrate the holiday with our relatives. So, they are more likely to come celebrate the wedding with you. Best of all, most establishments decorates for the holiday festivities. So, you save money on decorations. A winter wedding also captures the magic of the winter and holiday season.

Wedding Photography The Memory of Your Special Times

Wedding Photography, The Memory of Your Special Times
    By Gordon Petten

Your wedding is one of the most special times in your life and that it is why you need to capture the entire ceremony on camera and video. Most couples elect to hire professional photographers to help them capture their special day. Rates vary but a professional who has the experience and education you want will usually cost $150 or more an hour. These photographers will spend the day at your wedding and will take hundreds of photos so you and your family can relax and enjoy the wedding.

This can be a very good option, especially if you do not have the professional camera or equipment that is needed. Professional photographers and agencies have the latest digital cameras and video recorders and this can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars as these professional cameras are very expensive and often cost much more than $1000 and can go as high at $8000 and beyond. Hiring a professional photographer also allows your friends and family to relax and not worry about taking hundreds of photographs and videos.

To find a photographer, again simply do a search in Google or Yahoo! for wedding photographers in [Your City. This should provide a number of results for the most popular wedding photographers in your area who specialize in capturing the special moments of a wedding. When hiring a photographer, be sure to look for samples and see real pictures that they have taken for other weddings to get a sense of quality. Also, like every other aspect of planning a wedding, make sure you act for a list of references and contact all of the references.

You probably need to hire two different people, one to take photographs and another to take videos using a digital video camcorder as it can be very difficult for one person to multitask these two duties and although it may save you a little bit of money, you will ultimately end up with lower quality photos and fewer photos. wedding photography companies realize this and most of them offer some sort of discount or package if you hire both a professional photographer as well as someone to capture the wedding on video.

Hiring a photographer will enable you to remember your special day forever so it is very important that you hire a professional photographer who will able to do their job well and archive your happiest moments.

    6Month Wedding Beauty Countdown

    6-Month Wedding Beauty Countdown
    By Lesley-Ann Graham

You want to be a beautiful, radiant bride, and (like all other aspects of your wedding), a little planning and preparation can go a long way in helping you look your best on the big day. Here are some tips to help you get started...

Six months before. If you plan to grow out your hair or try a different color, experiment now. It will give you time to reverse the damage just in case you end up hating it. You can also test the look on the web. This is also a good time to begin a serious skin care regimen. Start cleansing, eat right, manage stress. And sign up for an exercise program! You may want to lose pounds to fit in your new dress, and the last way you want to do that is a crash diet. Starving yourself will lead to dull skin!

Two months before. Start meeting up with makeup artists for trial runs. If you're planning to do your own makeup, go to makeup counters to get a makeover and buy the products you need and practice your look. Begin moisturizing for silky smooth elbows, hands and knees. And if you want a bright smile, cut down on coffee and tea and start using a whitening toothpaste.

One month before. Test any at-home masks or facials; you don't want to risk an allergic reaction or break out too close to your wedding day! Have your eyebrows professionally shaped, and take your veil to any hair salons to try out 'dos' for the big day.

Two weeks before. Get your final hair cut or trim, and have your color retouched. Do a big full hair trial before your last dress fitting. It's your last chance to perfect your look!

One week before. Have your eyebrows retouched. Get a massage, a final facial, and a bikini wax. Go to the spa for a full body scrub, and have your nails done.

    Honolulu Hawaii Weddings

    Honolulu Hawaii Weddings
    By Kevin Stith

Marriage is one of the most exciting stages in a person's life. This is the day that you and the person you love the most will exchange vows and promise to cherish each other until eternity. But what if you cannot afford the high expenses that go with wedding preparations? Just imagine how much it will cost you for the wedding dress, cake, invitations, reception, decorations, and all the other wedding details. These will surely eat up your budget, and before you even know it, you only have a little bit of money left after your wedding. You should never let these financial problems get in the way of your big day, so maybe you should consider having a Honolulu wedding.

Honolulu weddings provide you with the most romantic and intimate setting as you share your vows. Whether you want your wedding to be a garden wedding or a wedding by the beach, a Honolulu wedding will give you a setting that you have always dreamed of for this special occasion. Most couples prefer holding their wedding in a destination away from their homes because it is cheaper, and the preparations are not that strenuous. And Hawaii is one of the most popular destinations since it is a paradise, with tropical gardens and romantic beaches.

Indeed, you can save a lot by having a four-day wedding weekend package instead of a meal and reception for 150-200 people at a luxury hotel back home. And what?s even better is that you and your wedding guests can enjoy the breathtaking view of the island after the wedding ceremony.

Saying I do does not have to be extravagant. What is important is that you and the most important person in your life have promised to love each other, for richer or for poorer, in sickness or in health.

5 Ways To Cut Your Wedding Guest List

5 Ways To Cut Your Wedding Guest List
    By Lesley-Ann Graham

You've set your wedding budget and booked a reception venue that you can afford. But there's this one little problem: your guest list keeps growing! Your parents insist that you have to invite an old family friend; your co-workers ask if they can bring their boyfriends. And then there's the common etiquette dilemma of 'having' to invite an entire group of people (rather than the few members you really like) because they would be 'offended'.

Don't know what to do? Here are some ways to get your guest list (and the cost of your reception) back under control:

    1. Divide your total head count into three: a third to the bride's parents, a third to the groom's parents, and a third to the bride and groom.

    2. Trim friends you haven't seen in years. You won't have any chance to really talk during the wedding, anyway.

    3. Don't invite co-workers unless they're really your friends (i.e., you go out with them regularly, and would probably be just as close even if any one of you changed jobs) Ask one person out of courtesy, and you'll have to ask all.

    4. Discourage guests from bringing kids or dates. A tactful way of doing this is to print seating cards (we have reserved seats for you at Table ) and insert them in the invitations.

    5. Switch places. Ask yourself, Would I be hurt if they didn't invite me to their wedding? If the answer is no, cut them from your list.

Winter Wedding in the Country Horse Drawn Carriage and Sleigh Rides

Winter Wedding in the Country, Horse Drawn Carriage and Sleigh Rides
    By Ken Bissonette

To get from church to reception, why not have a horse drawn carriage pull up to the church or chapel? Cover up with blankets on the way to your reception or place where you are having your pictures done. You may also want to consider a sleigh if you're wedding is in the country. Hear the bells as you glide through the snow.

A white limo or car decorated in winter wedding colors is another option to consider. You may want to serve hot drinks as your guests enter the reception site. Serve brandy, Irish Cream, de menthe, Cream de cocoa, coffee with Irish Cream or Baileys, or hot apple cider. They can sit or stand by the crackling fire, as they chat and wait for the Bride and Groom.

For entertainment at your reception, think of different things to do. Guests dressed in long coats and tall hats could skate on a nearby rink or pond, while bride and groom have pictures done, or as a part of the reception. Some ideas for your winter reception meal include serving a butternut squash soup with roast beef and horseradish, roast duck or lamb, baby greens and new potatoes.

Have a flaming fig pudding and your wedding cake for dessert. Decorate your wedding cake with icicles and small silver bells, or green ivy and small red berries or roses. At the end of the evening give your guests wedding favors. Give tiny snow globes with a winter theme inside, spiced teas, gingerbread, potpourri, candles, and others.

Complete your winter wedding with a winter honeymoon. Ski in Aspen or the Canadian Rockies. Visit Austria or Switzerland for a true winter holiday.

Embrace Pink Roses for Your Wedding Flowers

Embrace Pink Roses for Your Wedding Flowers
    By Jen Carter

Unlike the red rose, which is symbolic of love, the pink rose is a symbol of style and poetic romance. Its an endearing wedding flower selection, as it embraces gratitude, happiness, and passion.

While some may argue that theres too much importance placed on the color of wedding flowers carried by the bride, others will beg to differ. After all, roses and bouquets have traditionally conveyed messages throughout our history. Flowers have always been seen as a symbol of love and beauty. When carried by the bride, wedding flowers represent a celebration of love, fertility, and unity (as these flowers are grouped together in a bouquet).

A simple pink assortment of roses is an excellent choice for the bridal bouquet. It carries a direct message of peace and happiness. Pink is a soft and subtle color that will enhance any white gown. Its feminine and tranquil. All too often a bride picks a bold floral arrangement for her wedding bouquet which takes everyones attention off of her beautiful gown. Thats just too unfortunate.

In recent years, dyed roses are embraced by many young brides. Unfortunately these vibrant colors are very unnatural. They send a message of artificial love. On the other hand, a pink rose wedding bouquet has no faux statements attached to it. Its simple and elegant. Its natural, as are the feelings attached to it.

Theres a wide assortment of shades to choose from when you select pink roses as for your wedding bouquet. There are soft pinks, hot pinks, mauve pinks, and dark pinks. While this may seem overwhelming, a florist will be more than happy to help you select the one that suits your wedding attire and decorations. Dont be shy, ask any question you may have. Florists are professionals. Theyve heard just about every scenario before!

Pink is friendly, compassionate, and faithful. In addition to being a wonderful flower to select for your wedding bouquet, its the official color of Valentines Day. As pink is such a soft color, it would look lovely in both a Spring wedding summer bouquet, as well as a summer wedding bouquet. A pink rose is the universal symbol of beauty.

5 Ways To Avoid Wedding Planning Woes

5 Ways To Avoid Wedding Planning Woes
    By Rose Smith

You've been planning your wedding for months. You've met with vendors, visited locations, made some decisions, and feel that your wedding plans are finally coming together. How do you know that the people and services you are looking at booking are reputable and will actually provide what's been promised? Here are 5 things to watch out for when dealing with the wedding industry.

    1. Check On Your Vendor Through The Wedding Associations

Some vendors appear to be oblivious to what you desire. You may end up with the wrong flowers or be short staffed at your dinner reception - even though you specified how many guests will be attending. To avoid mix-ups check on your choice of vendor with the Association of Bridal Consultants, the Leading Caterers of America and the American Disc Jockey Association before signing any contracts. If the wedding professional you have chosen is not a member of any of these associations, you should definitely get some reference names and numbers of previous clients and call to see if they were satisfied with the service before booking.

    2. Don't Rely On Another Wedding Professional's Recommendation

It's quite common to ask your wedding planner or some other industry professional for recommendations on services that you'll need. For example, you may ask the reception manager at the hotel to recommend a cake decorator or a florist - and they will be more than happy to provide you with a list of vendors. However, the problem with this is that more often than not, these referrals are based on kickbacks.

The fact is, many vendors pay a fee to be on the preferred list for various location venues. You need to be aware that the caterer, photographer, or whoever the location manager is recommending has most likely paid an annual fee or commission percentage to be put on the list. Unfortunately, being on the list does not ensure that you will get good service. Once again, you need to get personal references and do your homework on any businesses recommended by other wedding industry vendors.

    3. Anything That Has The Word Wedding Attached To It Will Cost You 20% to 30% More

This is important to note - once the word wedding is spoken out loud, the cost of any service immediately jumps. Take the time to make a few phone calls with each wedding service you are looking at. First get a price based on a wedding event, then have someone else call a day or two later to get a price based on just a party. You will probably be surprised at the difference in quotes. You could then show up at the vendor's place of business and negotiate the lower party price for your wedding.

    4. Are You Paying For A Slice of Cake - Or A Thin Sheet Of Paper?

Quotes for wedding cakes can range all over the place. Obviously, the more elaborate the cake, the higher the cost to make it and you are usually charged y the slice. The problem is - how large is a slice? Slice fees can range anywhere from 75 cents to $20 each, yet that $20 piece of cake could be paper thin. When ordering your wedding cake, make sure that the slice size is specified in your contract.

This brings up another question. What if you're getting a friend or family member to make your cake? That should eliminate the per slice fee, should it? Not so. The reception location will usually charge you a serving fee based on the number of slices cut and served. Once again, make sure you check up on all these extra details so you aren't surprised with additional charges.

    5. All The Little Details Add Up To Big Expenses

You have to be on the ball when booking any wedding services. Ask about every little detail, particularly what is... and is not... included within the services that you are looking at booking. For instance, at your chosen reception venue find out if all the tablecloths, cutlery, glasses and napkins are included within the price quoted or are these extra? Let's say you've rented chair back covers. Did you know that there's a good chance that you will be charged an additional fee to actually have them ironed and placed on the chairs? Another example: the staff will set the tables, but you may get dinged a service fee for the staff to place your centerpieces on each table as well.

Most couples realize the importance of looking over their contracts with a fine-tooth comb to make sure everything that has been agreed upon is listed within the contract. However, how many of us actually think to look for anything not included? It's human nature to make common sense assumptions - you're paying the rental fee for cloth napkins, therefore it's assumed they will be nicely folded at each place setting. Will they? Or do you need to pay extra for a folding fee?

Be diligent in your research and take the time to get answers to clarify what things may not have been included - and therefore not mentioned by the vendor. It's the only way to ensure that your wedding celebration doesn't become a frustrating surprise event that unexpectedly blows your wedding budget sky-high.
